Hema Surapaneni is a celebrated and passionate academician with 30 years of experience in the field of education. An active participant at prestigious international fora like the leadership summit conference at the college of Education, University of Iowa, among others – she also holds CLIL diploma from the University of Cambridge.
She has established and worked as the founder Principal in reputed and successful International Schools like, “Phoenix Greens”, “Ganges Valley” and “The Gaudium School” in Hyderabad. She’s a mini celebrity amongst the thousands of students who’ve flowered under her guidance across like Oakridge International School & St. Alphonsa’s School.
Hema is amongst the doyens of education sector in our city and state. She has rich experience of handling CBSE, Cambridge and International Baccalaureate-IB PYP, MYP & DP. She is much in demand for providing pedagogical training to the teachers and has groomed several teachers into professionals of great repute in their respective disciplines and fields.
It’s this vast repertoire of work that makes her the recipient of prestigious awards and recognitions like being declared as One amongst the top 100 highly effective Principals of India, One amongst the top 25 women leaders in Indian Educator sector and also as the Best leader in education and management in Telangana for the year 2018.

A double Post-Graduate in Commerce and Psychology and a Bachelor of Education from Pune university, with a PG Diploma in Guidance and Counselling, she has participated in a number of Teacher Development and Capacity Building Programmes, the 27th National Conference of Sahodaya School Complexes, hosted by CBSE.
Coming from the defence background and having travelled to different places in the country, she has the unique experience of having handled leadership roles across all levels of a school and across different boards. From starting off as a teacher in Kota, to, becoming an academic coordinator and counsellor in Army School, to handling the 11 & 12 as the Senior Secondary Coordinator and head of the Department at Suchitra Academy to becoming the principal of Euro Kids International Pune, she has an experience and reputation that few can match.
Compassionate and student-focused, she is highly regarded for planning curriculum, implementing positive teaching and learning strategies and helping students realize their true potential by breaking the barriers of learning. An educator by passion and a multi-tasker by choice, she loves to guide the students indulge in various competitions, develop debating and entrepreneurial skills and motivate them towards enhancing their inherent talents.
She believes in creating a learning environment that will help motivate the students continuously excel by instilling a sense of responsibility and honesty. One needs to be committed in their endeavour to ensure continuous, innovative and adaptive learning to bring meaningful benefits to students and to the entire school community.
Involved in almost all aspects from the conception of the school. A strategic thinker and a passionate person at heart, he started his career in Advertising, Communication and Branding. He was among the youngest professional to set up his own firm that provided innovative and path breaking solution for their clients for over two decades. He worked with several prestigious names that included JK Seeds, Xerox, Gati, GE to name a few.
However, life took a new turn when he got introduced to Yoga. With Yoga in his life, he started feeling physically, emotionally and mentally more stable and stronger. Intrigued with the right way of living and noticing the fact that people struggle to live a meaningful life, he developed curiosity about life itself. After five long years of study and practice his Guru initiated him into taking the knowledge to the world.
He now runs a Yoga Institute with the mission to “Add life to living”. He promotes community living with love and togetherness. Many Entrepreneurs & Professionals see a life coach in him. His demeanour, pleasant smile and simplicity inspire many to live a simple yet rich life.
His wisdom and inner peace are what he brings to Indic International School.
